i. Development of novel anti-aging strategies targeting autophagy pathways against brain aging and age-related neurodegenerative disorders.
ii. Development of autophagy modulating nanoparticles blended biopolymeric scaffolds for improved neurogenesis process.
iii. Development and validation of a 3D model of brain aging in the dish.
iv. Neurotoxicological assessment of new chemical entities.
Teaching:
Teaching Gene Therapy Products, Basics of Biomaterials, and Bioprocess Engineering to M.Sc. By Research in Biotherapeutics students.
Research Projects:
i. Understanding the protective effect of chlorogenic acid in rat embryonic neural stem cells prenatally exposed to air particulate matter: A transcriptome-based approach. Funded by Core Research Grant (CRG) scheme of SERB, DST, Govt. of India. Budget: Rs 52.65 Lacs (2023-2026).
ii. Understanding the cross-talk between autophagy and neurogenesis process in human neural stem cells through RNA-Seq analysis. Funded by the Scheme for Transformational and Advanced Research in Sciences (STARS) scheme of MHRD, Govt. of India. Budget: Rs 61.00 Lacs (2023-2026).
