Dr. Sajith Raghunandanan
Dr. Raghunandanan completed his bachelor’s degree in biotechnology from Bharathiar University (Tamil Nadu, 2010) and earned his master’s degree in microbiology from Mahatma Gandhi University (Kerala, 2013), where he was a university topper and received a gold medal. He joined the Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology as a Ph.D. scholar in 2014, where he investigated various aspects of Mycobacterium tuberculosis during its latency and reactivation stages. He joined Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, USA in 2019 and investigated the role of σ54 dependent gene regulation in pathogenesis of spirochetes such as Borrelia burgdorferi and Leptospira interrogans. Dr. Raghunandanan has published 20 research articles in peer-reviewed international journals, including Nucleic Acids Research, PLOS Pathogens, mBio, FEBS Journal, Journal of Antibiotics, and Molecular and Cellular Proteomics, among others. He currently serves as an Academic Editor for Frontiers in Microbiology and the Journal of Bacteriology.
