CURRENT ACADEMIC ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Prof. Jaya Vasudevan is currently the Director in-charge at the Manipal Law School, MAHE, Bengaluru. With a rich experience of more than 20 years of teaching and research at various institutions, including the Indian Council of Arbitration (ICA), the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry-FICCI, the University of Delhi, the Heidelberg University, Germany, Fiji National University, and Hidayatullah National law School, she has also been a leader in her field of work and study. Along with a Ph.D in International Commercial Arbitration Law, she has also been awarded with the Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship at the Institute for Foreign and International Private and Business Law, the Heidelberg University and Visiting Research Fellowship at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative & International Private Law, Hamburg, Germany.
Designing several Masters and Ph.D programmes, she also serves as an active member of various widely regarded professional bodies and arbitral institutions in Europe. With her experience as an author for books and research papers with a focus on areas of study including international trade law, GST and indirect taxations, her recent research interests lies in newer forms of interdisciplinary cooperation in International Business Law, unfolding the contemporary challenges to sustainability in global trade.
