Overview
COURSE DISCRIPTION:
MSc. Emergency Medical Technology is a 2 year course, in this program the candidates are trained with a wide spectrum of knowledge in Emergency Medical Technology.
Ø Training and research on pre- hospital transport , assessment and stabilization of life threatening emergencies
Ø Development of Simulation based education, training and innovation in Emergency Medical Technology.
Ø Training in advanced trauma management in pre- hospital setting.
Ø Identifying, assessing and stabilizing obstetric emergencies, pediatrics emergencies and resuscitation in pre-hospital setting.
Ø Research and training on infectious disease outbreaks and preparedness, telemedicine and communication system.
Ø Training and research on geriatric emergencies and home care.
Ø The candidates will be able to use critical thinking and decision making during the transport and stabilization of patients in the pre-hospital settings.

Ø Stimulation based learning with pre-hospital field exposure
Ø Emphasis on infection control, toxicology and EMS system functioning
CAREER PROSPECTS:
Ø In Emergency Medicine Department as an EMT – Private and government hospitals.
Ø Work as an EMT in tertiary care hospitals in India and Abroad
Ø As Emergency Medical Therapist- in transport and handling ventilators.
Ø In the pre-hospital setting , as a member in Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
Ø As an EMT in Air ambulances, wilderness response, industrial services and offshore response.
Teaching faculty and capable of opting for higher studies and research.
