Dr. B.P. Sanjay is a distinguished senior professor of communication at the Manipal Institute of Communication, MAHE. With more than four decades of teaching and research experience across several state, central universities, and institutions of national importance, he has contributed significantly to the political economy of communication, C4D, technology transfer, and journalism education and training. Dr. Sanjay has held various leadership roles, including Director of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication and founding Vice-Chancellor of the Central University of Tamil Nadu. His academic journey includes a PhD from Simon Fraser University, Canada, and extensive involvement in national and international academic bodies. He has published numerous works on journalism education, media systems, and communication policies. Dr. Sanjay’s leadership has been instrumental in developing academic programs and institutions. His active participation in IAMCR and other global organizations underscores his commitment to advancing the field of communication

CURRENT ACADEMIC ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Following a long career in teaching journalism, communication, and media studies in several state, central and institution of national importance have joined the Manipal Institute of Communication to share and enlarge the teaching and research activities of the Institute. This is more of a mentoring role rather than administrative. Currently assigned to teach 3 courses in a year apart from counselling faculty and students as and when required.
