October 21, 2024

Pradeep Sinha, CEO of Inditech, Mumbai, and an MIT alumnus from batch 1984, inaugurated Tech Tatva 2024 on October 15th at 6 PM at MIT, Manipal, alongside Dr. (Cdr) Anil Rana, Director of MIT, and Somashekar Bhat, Joint Director.

During his address, the chief guest shared fond memories of his time at MIT and expressed his gratitude, stating, “You can take an engineer out of Manipal, but you cannot take Manipal out of that engineer." He reminisced about his post-graduation journey, recounting how he joined the Japanese corporation Marubeni as a young Indian engineer. Within just six months of leaving Manipal, he found himself negotiating business deals with Doyen of Indian Industry to a successful $4 million order for the conglomerate. He credited his confidence and ability to navigate such high-stakes situations to the training and challenges he faced during his time at Manipal.

Sinha also delighted the audience with anecdotes from his college days, offering a glimpse into Manipal’s past and engaging the new generation of students. He encouraged the students, saying, “You are some of the brightest minds in the country. I exhort you to create something that benefits our country, the world, and humanity at large. Make life easier. Don’t be afraid of failure. Make use of the resources around you. Never be satisfied with what you have done—challenge yourself and strive to make it better and better.”

He concluded by emphasizing the importance of collaboration and camaraderie, urging students to "Collaborate, compete, and celebrate" as they embark on their journey of innovation and discovery.
