Manipal School of Architecture and Planning is pleased to welcome Dr. Kalyan Kumar Mukherjee as Professor & Director.

Dr. Mukherjee hails from Kolkata. He completed his B.Arch. and M.Arch from Jadavpur University in the years 1988 and 1992 respectively. Subsequently, he obtained his Ph.D from Jadavpur University in the year 2020.

Dr. Mukherjee started his academic career in the year 1995 at Birla Institute of Technology (BITS), Ranchi. He then served as the Professor Design Chair at Piloo Mody College of Architecture from 1999 to 2000. In 2004, he joined his alma mater, Jadavpur University as a Visiting Faculty in Building Services and served the institution till 2012. He then served Om Dayal College of Architecture, Howrah as Principal and continued to serve the institution till July 2024.  He was also appointed as the convener of the BOS at Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad University of Technology in 2022.

Dr. Mukherjee brings over two decades of experience in architecture and construction consultancy projects and has numerous publications in various conferences and journals.

Married to Ms. Jayati Mukherjee who is working as the Chairperson for Faculty of Accessory and Lifestyle Design at the National Institute of Fashion Design (NIFT) and the couple is blessed with two daughters.
