Dr. Reshmi started her academic career at MCHP, Manipal as a faculty in 2006 and was primarily involved in academics and research.She obtained a grant from ICMR in 2011 to complete her PhD, received Public Health Research Initiative Fellowship of PHFI-DST in the year 2019 and received grants in the capacity of Principal Investigator and Coinvestigator from national and international agencies viz- ICMR, WHO, DST, DFID. In an administrative role she served as the Chairperson of the Academic Operations Committee MCHP, from 2016-2019, she was instrumental in the transition of the curriculum to a semester and credit-based system and the Outcome-based education in all the programs at MCHP. Dr. Reshmi served as the Head of Department - HIM, MCHP since November 2019. During this tenure, she was instrumental in the commencement of the integrated Bachelors and Masters program in collaboration with the Indiana University, USA. Her research interests include health insurance, health information management, and systematic reviews.

Accomplishments
Dr Reshmi is the recipient of the Public Health Research Initiative Fellowship instituted by the Public Health Foundation of India –Department of Science and Technology in 2019 .She is an active Global Burden of Disease collaborator. She had received a grant from the Indian Council of Medical Research to carry out her PhD work in the area of Health Insurance .A member of the International Professional Society for Health Economics and Outcomes Research .Dr Reshmi is a member of a task force constituted by Health Informatics professionals for curriculum development . She also is a gold medallist for her post graduation is Agriculture and a has received an outstanding commendation certificate from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research during her previous career engagement.
