Students from all over the world come to Manipal, in search of quality education and an unforgettable college experience. I was one such student, who had heard a lot of good things about Manipal Academy of Higher Education, especially about the happening college life.
But seeing is a lot more than hearing! When I started my journey here, I realised that a carnival full of delights was just waiting to be explored! There was so much more than just world-class academia!
Extra-curriculars: a rollercoaster ride!
Drama, psychology, debate, photography, acting and music – the variety of options I had in front of me were amazing. So I knew that if I applied myself here, I was going to have a gala time.
Also, because of the insanely talented people I met here, I got inspired beyond my expectations! The feeling that you get when your creative juices start flowing, is just like the rush you experience on a roller coaster ride!
Plus, with clubs such as AIESEC and IASTE around, I knew that I was going to get the necessary exposure required as a student, as well as a growing individual. The clubs allowed me to find technical and non-technical internships abroad, and this was an invaluable, and exciting opportunity.
Furthermore, getting into a club in Manipal didn’t mean that the fun stopped right there. I also had some brilliant opportunities to participate in various college fests and competitions. Since all the institutes within Manipal have their own fests where students can either participate or organize, it felt like I was a part of a huge carnival!
By the way, while I had a lot of fun, I remembered that I had my responsibilities towards the society too! Through many social service organizations such as the Volunteer Services Organization and the Rotaract Club, I could help give back to the society by participating in various social welfare activities.
Travel: the giant-wheel for your perspectives!
There’s nothing in the world that broadens your perspective like travelling! And since Manipal is surrounded by some of the most scenic places in the country, I did a lot of travelling.
I discovered new places, met new people, tasted new local cuisines and did so much more. Be it beaches or trekking terrain, there was always something new for me to experience here. I made several memorable visits to scenic tourist destinations such as Agumbe, Kaup, Jog Falls, Goa, Gokarna and Coorg. Also, there were spots in Manipal itself such as the Railway Bridge, End Point, Manipal Lake and Arbi Falls where my college friends and I spent a lot of time together.
Hostel life: like bumper cars!
Maggi for breakfast. Tea for lunch. Late night gaming sessions at my neighbour’s dormitory room. These were the moments which made for a bumper of a time, just like bumper cars! There was a great sense of brotherhood in the everyday hostel life, and I loved each and every moment of the fun and naughty times in college!
All in all, I had an absolutely amazing time at Manipal. My stint here was not only productive, but so much fun too! And I’ll always remember it!
