National Anti Ragging Day: August 12, 2024

Prasanna School of Public Health (PSPH), Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal organised ‘National Anti Ragging Day’ based on the ‘Theme: Unite Against Ragging’ on Monday, August 12, 2024 (15:00 hours IST) in the Lecture Hall 4A, MMMC, MAHE, Manipal.
The following Activities were organised as part of the event.

>Just A Minute – Promote a Healthy Welcome Culture.
>Student Driven Panel Discussion.
>Best Tag Lines – Anti-Ragging Awareness.
The programme was led by the students. Prof Dr Cherian Varghese (Director, PSPH, MAHE, Manipal) welcomed the students, faculty during the occasion and spoke regarding the problems caused by ragging and the importance of such anti-ragging events.
PSPH students participated in the Just A Minute event during which they spoke for a minute regarding the topic ‘Promote a Healthy Welcome Culture’.
Prof Dr Cherian Varghese announced the Prize Winners regarding Just A Minute event.
The Prize Winners:
First Prize - Mr Raajdhruv Bansal (First Year, MHA Programme).
Second Prize – Mr Simon Thomas (Second Year, MSW Programme).
Third Prize – Mr Agnivo Basu (First Year, MSc Digital Epidemiology Programme).
Consolation Prize – Ms Devashree Jambhekar (First Year, MHA Programme).

This was followed by a Student Driven Panel Discussion during which the PSPH students expressed their opinion regarding ragging and discussed regarding the various anti ragging measures that could help the students. Dr Ankita Sen Gupta from 2nd year MHA, Mr Simon Thomas from 2nd year MSW, Ms. Pallavi Kamath from 1st year MHA, Mr. Agnivo Basu 1st Year, MSc Digital Epidemiology were the panel members. Ms. Vibha moderated the discussion from 2nd Year MSc Biostatistics.
