Department of Community and Family Medicine, AIIMS (All-India Institute of Medical Sciences) Raebareli in collaboration with the Science & Engineering Research Board (SERB), Department of Science and Technology, Government of India organized the Workshop on the "Application of GIS (Geographic Information System) and Remote Sensing in Public Health Research," on the Premises of the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences, Raebareli from January 29, 2024, to February 04, 2024.
Two Students of the MPH Programme, Prasanna School of Public Health (PSPH), Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal – Dr Sakir K K and Dr Harijith K R participated in the workshop. These two students were among the 25 participants selected nationwide for this High-End Workshop.
The event focused on advancing the participant's understanding of GIS, Remote Sensing, and GPS (Global Positioning System) in the realm of public health research. The curriculum included hands-on training sessions and expert presentations from institutions such as ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization), AIIMS, PGIMER (Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research) Chandigarh, and more.
