About the Department

Following the establishment of Kasturba Medical College, Manipal as a private enterprise in 1953, the department of Anatomy started functioning from the academic year 1953–54. Postgraduate training programme leading to MD in Anatomy was introduced in 1977.

The department is actively involved in training the undergraduate students during their early years of medicine and aids to establish a strong foundation.

The department is constantly involved in exploring and implementing newer teaching-learning pedagogies that enhances the process of learning. The department also focusses on conducting good quality research and has undertaken various projects funded by several national and International agencies such as the ICMR, DST, DBT to name a few.

The department is furnished with a team of dedicated and enthusiastic faculty who are constantly involved in honing their knowledge and skills related to Anatomy teaching and research.
