A course on “Universal Human Values and Professional Ethics” is taught to all the students of first year B.Tech at MIT Manipal. It consists of the topics such as process for value education, understanding harmony in the human being or with oneself, harmony in the family and society, harmony in the nature and existence, implications of the holistic understanding of harmony on professional ethics, Models of professional roles, Theories about right action, Self-interest, Customs and Religion. Environmental Ethics, Computer Ethics, Weapons Development, Engineers as Managers.
