The Department of Speech and Hearing, MCHP MAHE, Manipal organized an International Symposium on Auditory Cognitive Linguistics’ on October 5th and 6th 2023 (offline) attempted to focus on Integrating auditory, cognition, and language processing in clinical practices. This seminar was accredited by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). Kinnikambala Padmanabha Rao, Nadoja Professor, officially inaugurated the conference. Dr. Kishan M M and Dr. Gopeekrishnan facilitated the seminar with support from Dr. Usha (HOD Dept. of Speech and Hearing), Dr. Arun G Maiya (Dean MCHP, MAHE), Dr. Venkataraja Aithal (Associate Dean MCHP, MAHE), Dr. Reshmi. B (Associate Dean, MCHP, MAHE. There were, overall, 148 registrants across the country. Our resource faculties with expertise in Auditory Cognitive Linguistics included professors from the University of Auckland, Macquarie University, the University of Melbourne, Utah State University, the University of London, Johns Hopkins Hospital, Centre for Brain Research, KMC Manipal. Also, Auditivo, Starkey and Resonance sponsors showed up with short and informative presentations. Scientific sessions witnessed oral paper presentations from different colleges on the theme. There was positive feedback from the (71) participants. They mentioned that the seminar was well organized and that they are looking forward to such events in the future.
