On September 5th, 2024, at MCHP, faculty and students from the Department of Speech and Hearing, alongside their colleagues from the Department of ENT, convened to participate in Dr. Hari Subramanian's presentation entitled "The Emergence of Neurolaryngology." Leveraging his extensive expertise in neurolaryngology, Dr. Subramanian took the audience on a comprehensive journey through the pivotal research findings that have given rise to neurolaryngology as a distinct field. His presentation meticulously delineated the evolution of neurolaryngological practices, emphasizing the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration between speech and hearing science and ENT. The role of neurolaryngology in diagnosing and treating a wide range of neurological disorders affecting the larynx and voice provided invaluable insights for both aspiring and seasoned professionals in attendance. The session concluded with an interactive segment and a Q&A session.
