Be A Buddy, Not A Bully.

Bullying- violates human rights of a child to participate freely in his/ her environment. All are not born with all qualities. Each child is unique from each other irrespective to physical abilities, memory and creativity. Now, it’s high time to speak about this unwanted mental abuse everyday happening in school, college and even offices. India is the highest in number in cyber bullying all over the world.
Two awareness programs were conducted in Christ school on 26thoct, 2018 and Madhav Kripa School on 27thoct, 2018 for the occasion of world Occupational therapy day 2018 by the students and faculties of Occupational therapy department, SOAHS, Manipal. The aim of the program was to sensitise children about root causes and consequences of bullying and different psycho-social issues of both the victim and victimizer. Approximately 70 students and their teachers from 9th and 10th grade of Christ school and 150 students from 8th and 9th grade of Madhav Kripa School participated. The program addressed the need of identification, protection and empower of a bully in school and community level. The program involved role play, presentation and demonstration.
School teachers and students were actively participated throughout the program and recommended to conduct such program in future.
