Doctor’s Experience - Guest lecture Series on the topic “Legal issues of current healthcare practice in India"

School of Management, Manipal Academy of Higher Education had organized a guest lecture on “Legal Issues of current healthcare practice in India” for the MBA Health care Management students on 13 August, 2015. The guest speaker was Dr. Joseph Thomas, Professor, Department of Urology, KMC Manipal. He addressed about the patient-doctor-hospital relationship and highlighted the responsibilities and support by the hospital management towards establishing and strengthening this relationship. Dr. Joseph Thomas also emphasized the roles and responsibilities of the managers in bridging the gap between healthcare professionals and hospital management. The talk was an eye-opener for the healthcare management students to know the expectations of the doctors and patients while delivering the quality healthcare services. Dr. K. V. M. Varambally, Director, School of Management delivered welcome address. Dr. Yogesh Pai & Dr. Swathi K S, faculty of Healthcare management area coordinated the event. The faculty of the institute were present on the occasion. Student member Ms. Deena Grace Abigael introduced the guest speaker to the gathering.
