Entrepreneurship Awareness Program

School of Management of Manipal Academy of Higher Education organized an Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme in association with Platform of women entrepreneurs of Udupi, Dept. of Commerce and Industry of the Govt. of Karnataka and Dist. Industries Centre of Udupi. Mr. Ramananda Nayak, the Joint Director of the Dept. of Commerce and Industries of the Govt. of Karnataka, delivered the inaugural address. He explained how the industrial policy of the Govt. is encouraging the spirit of entrepreneurship. He also threw light on the initiatives taken up by the Govt. in this regard. Dr. KVM Varambally, the Director School of Management, opined that the need of the hour is to create entrepreneurs instead of job seekers. Further, he explained how the School of Management has taken its initiatives to create and nurture entrepreneurial spirit among students especially with a view to encouraging women entrepreneurship.
Mrs. Sarita Santhosh, the President of Platform of Women Entrepreneurs of Udupi Registered (POWER), welcomed the budding entrepreneurs. Dr. Gayathri, the Secretary of POWER, proposed vote of thanks. Ms. Deena Grace Abigael compered the programme. Students of School of Management and Dept. of Commerce of Manipal Academy of Higher Education, who are aspiring to become entrepreneurs, participated in the programme.
