Workshop on “How to face Job Interview?”

The SIP and Placement club of the School of Management is set up with an intention to empower students to organize activities that enable students to perform better in their job interviews. The club was inaugurated on 11th August 2016 followed by a workshop on “How to face a job interview?” The club was inaugurated by Prof. Shammy Shiri who is the Placement Coordinator and senior grade lecturer at Department of Public Health. Ms. Frency Cornelio, the president of SIP & Placement club presented the overview and the objectives of the club. The Chairperson of the inaugural session, Dr. KVM Varambally gave an inspiring opening address and stressed on the challenges faced by students in the corporate world. The inauguration concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Kripa.

Prof. Shammy covered various important aspects to be known by a fresher attending a job interview during the workshop. She emphasized on the need to identify one’s own personal strength and weakness. She advised the students on how to present oneself during an interview and gave an insight into how to face challenging tasks during the process. She also stressed on the importance of every day preparations that is required by students towards both conceptual knowledge and general knowledge. The workshop was well received by all the students who were present and were of the opinion that it was one of the most interactive sessions that they had attended in their time in the school. The workshop concluded with vote of thanks by Mr. Mohan and handing over of a memento to the resource person by Dr. K V M Varambally.
