Participation of MBA-HM students in SASH 2015, Conference
Academy of Hospital Administration (Mangalore-Manipal chapter) had organized a National conference on Safe &Sustainable Hospitals –SASH 2015 on December 5th & 6th at Yenapoya Medical College, Mangalore. The faculty and students of MBA Healthcare Management of School of Management, Manipal Academy of Higher Education had actively took part and get benefited from the conference.
Shobana Sivaraman, a second year Healthcare management MBA student has presented a paper titled “Leveraging digital resources to empower rural India” in the conference and got appreciation from the eminent scholars of Healthcare administration area. The paper discussed about how technology can be leveraged to improve the rural health status in India. Current technological measures towards tuberculosis was studied and gaps are identified in the flow of RNTCP (Revised National Tuberculosis Control programme). Case monitoring model called “DOTS cum SMS based monitoring system” was recommended through this paper.
