Research Club Inauguration

Research is the driving force of educational institutions in the West. School Of Management, Manipal recognises the importance of research and provides various opportunities for both students and faculty.
Identifying the same, Dr. Raveendranath Nayak, Director of SOM created the Student Research Club in SOM. The activities of the newly formed Student Research club of School of Management, for the Academic year 2016-17 were formally inaugurated on Friday, 29 July 2016 by Prof. K P Nandan Prabhu, of SOM Manipal.
Mr. Mukul Bharadwaj, the president of Student Research Club, presented an overview of the objectives and activities of the club for the academic year. The inaugural address was given by Dr. Rajashekaran Pillai, faculty advisor, research club, SOM Manipal. He listed out various opportunities provided by the University, and the career options for the students in the field of research. He encouraged the students to focus on outcome based activities, by presenting at least single research paper in a year. Dr. Smitha Nayak chairperson of the programme gave her insight about need for research in modern business world. She also stressed that club activities provide scope for members to developing inter personal skills. The chief guest Prof. Nandan Prabhu explained how research can help to seek answers for questions, with appropriate findings. He suggested students to work on originality while presenting research paper.
