3rd Manipal Pharmaceutics Conference (MPCON) 2024 was organized by Department of Pharmaceutics, Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MCOPS), Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) during 29th to 31st August, 2024 at Manipal. MPCON 2024 brought together leading experts, researchers, and practitioners in the field of pharmaceuticals at the MCOPS campus, MAHE. The conference, themed "Trending Novel Technologies in Pharmaceuticals," provided a comprehensive overview of the latest advancements shaping the industry. Around 200 delegates including pharmacy students, teachers and industry delegates from various reputed pharmacy institutions across India and industry representatives participated in this national conference.

The event featured a series of enlightening keynote addresses and interactive sessions from eminent speakers from pharmaceutical industry that highlighted emerging technologies and their implications for pharmaceutical development. Research and futuristic papers were also presented in the poster and oral competitions under 4 pharmaceutical categories. Furthermore, a preconference workshop on “QbD with JMP: Hands-on Statistical Discovery& Formulation Breakthroughs” was facilitated by JMP on 29August 2024.

Speaking about the event Dr Srinivas Mutalik, Principal, MCOPS said that “Innovation would be driven and transformative advances in the field would be inspired by the gathering of brilliant minds present at the event”. Dr Shaila Lewis, Organizing Secretary of MPCON 2024 mentioned that the presence of resource persons from reputed pharmaceutical industries like Lupin, Novo Nordisk, BARC Amneal Pharmaceuticals, Bioplus Lifesciences, and RC2 Pharma Solutions will bridge the gap between academia-industry and this initiative of MCOPS will act as a common platform towards collaborative development of novel technologies for pharmaceuticals.The conference was a resounding success, reflecting the dynamic progress in pharmaceutical technologies and reaffirming MCOPS MAHE's commitment to advancing the field through knowledge sharing and collaboration.

“Vyaghra Leela” – a cultural evening depicting the culture of Udupi featuring Mosaru kudike, Pili Balike, Dhol taasha was organized by MCOPS on the same day. MCOPS, Manipal has been recently been ranked #8 among top pharmacy institutions of India in the NIRF ranking 2024 by Ministry of Education, Government of India.
