A patent has been granted for a novel process titled "Method of preparing an analogue of quercetin that specifically inhibits HDAC-8 Enzyme" on July 31, 2020 by Controller General of Patents, Designs & Trade Marks, India to the research team led by Dr Subhankar Biswas, Dr Neetinkumar Reddy, Dr BS Jayashree, Dr K Sreedhara R Pai and Dr C Mallikarjuna Rao.
Our former PhD students, Subhankar and Neetinkumar had developed and executed the SERB-DST funded project. Dr Jayashree, Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Dr Pai and Dr Rao, Professors, Department of Pharmacology were mentors for this research work.
