Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrated at MCOPS
November 01, 2015
Sardar Vallabhai Patel, known as the iron man, dreamt of a united India, where the people of India would be one and yet retain their diversity. On his 140th birth anniversary, Community Development Committee (CDC) and Sports Council of MAPS, Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences jointly organized a three day event which included various competitions. A hearty appreciation goes to all the faculty members and students who directly or indirectly contributed for a national cause “Unified India”. Special word of thanks goes to Dr C Mallikarjuna Rao, Principal, MCOPS for his constant support and motivation. The topic for the debate competition was “Caste System: A solution yesterday, turned problem today”. The debate advocated different views from participants, unraveling the curtains of our pre-formed ideologies. “A Unified India” being the theme for the collage competition was as diverse and colorful as our country. Well scripted essays were submitted for the topic- “Sardar Vallabhai Patel’s vision in today’s world” for the essay contest Dr Nikhil Govind, HoD, Manipal Centre of Philosophy and Humanities, enlightened the students with an inspiring talk during the valedictory function at MCOPS. The teachers and students participated actively to make the event a definite success.
