Dr. Sahana Shetty, Professor, and Head, Department of Endocrinology, Kasturba Hospital, Manipal delivered a guest talk on "Types of insulin and its use in clinical practice " on 13 August from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm. In her talk, she gave insight into the clinical applications of insulin.  In addition, she explained various types of insulin and its analogs.  She also emphasized the importance of patient education by the clinical pharmacist on the correct use of insulin and its administration devices.  The event was organized by the Pharmacy Literacy Club (PLC), Centre for Public Health Pharmacy, Dept. of Pharmacy Practice, and MCOPS to enhance the learning experience & support students in their academics and extra-academics. PLC is a students’ initiative to provide a platform for capacity building in the best clinical pharmacy practices & research and public health pharmacy services.
