Guest Lecture on “Alternative splicing in cancer: Learning from human organogenesis’’ by Dr. Arashdeep Singh, Post-doctoral Researcher, Cancer Data Science Laboratory, NIH-National Cancer Institute, USA

October 21, 2022

Dr. Arashdeep Singh, Post-doctoral Researcher, Cancer Data Science Laboratory, NIH-National Cancer Institute, USA,  delivered a guest lecture on 21 Oct 2022 at 9 am, titled “Alternative splicing in cancer: Learning from human organogenesis” through MS Teams for the benefit of faculty, research scholars, and PG students of MCOPS. Dr. Arashdeep’s talk gave insights into how cancer cell exploits alternative splicing.  He narrated an intricate similarity in alternative splicing events during embryogenesis and cancer. He elaborated on various statistical and computational tools used to analyze large-scale transcriptomic data to understand the fundamental biological principles and possible molecular mechanisms underlying cancer development and progression. The guest lecture was organized by the Department of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, MCOPS, and was well received by the audience.
