Alumni Engagement Guest Lecture Series – 18/2023

The Department of Obstetric and Gynecological Nursing, Manipal College of Nursing, MAHE, Manipal, organized a guest lecture titled "Triage in Antenatal Care" on November 23, 2023, between 11.30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. The target audience was the fourth-year BSc Nursing students.
Mrs. Anuda Veera D’Souza, alumna of MCON, PBBSc Nursing (2009–2011 batch) with academic credentials and work experience as a Senior Registered Nurse and clinical leader in American Hospital, Dubai, deliberated on the topic.
She discussed various aspects of triage in antenatal care, with an emphasis on assessment and admission procedures. She also elaborated on critical care management during emergencies with relevant examples. The lecture also covered the concept of priority during emergency triage.
The session was interesting as well as inspiring, providing a comprehensive understanding of the concepts and the practical implications of the care of pregnant women during triage. It garnered participation from 75 attendees, both students and faculty members.
