Observation of World Mental Health Day 2024

The Department of Psychiatric (Mental Health) Nursing, Manipal College of Nursing, MAHE, Manipal, conducted events on account of World Mental Health Day 2024 for two consecutive days on 8th and 10th Oct 2024, under the theme “It is time to prioritise mental health in the workplace.”. This theme emphasises the crucial role of addressing mental health and well-being in the workplace, benefiting individuals, organisations, and communities. This program is aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-Being).
On 8th October 2024, an awareness program on Mental Health and Mental Hygiene was organised for the public at the subcenter, Yerlapady Panchayath Premises, Karkala. Mrs. Asha K. Nayak, Assistant Professor, Senior Scale, Department of Psychiatric (Mental Health) Nursing, MCON Manipal, was the resource person. She emphasised the characteristics of a mentally healthy person, warning signs of poor mental health, and promotion of mental health strategies. Mrs. Arundhathi, the Community Health Officer, welcomed the gathering and conveyed her gratitude for organising the program. Forty-two people (three males and 39 females) attended the programme.
