International Observership Programme – University of Northern Denmark.

Eleven students along with Tanja Chræmmer and Rikke Brændgaard Sørensen Senior Lecturers from the University of Northern Denmark visited the Manipal College of Nursing for International Observership program from September 9 to 19, 2024.
During their observership program, they interacted with Dr Karunakar, the Director of the office of international MAHE, Dr Judith A Noronha, Dean, and Heads of the Department of MCON, Manipal. They have experienced various facilities at Manipal Academy of Higher Education and Kasturba Hospital. They have visited various medical-surgical, pediatric, and OBG wards. The students and faculty of Denmark have conducted health education on hand hygiene at Marne and Patla, Udupi. They have demonstrated germs on the hands using technology and highlighted the importance of hand washing to school children. The students and faculty also visited the Spandana (School for Special Children). They have also experienced the culture of Udupi district, which was shared by Dr Praveen Shetty, Department of Humanity and Philosophy. They also visited the Department of Yoga and Ayurveda, where the experts shared their experiences on healthcare practices in India. Their visit and activities are aligned with SDG 3: good health and well-being, SDG 4: Quality education and SDG 17 partnerships for the goals.
