Report on celebration of TEACHER’S DAY & CHAMAYAM 24

The Student Nurses Association (SNA) organised the Teachers' Day and Chamayam 2024 on September 5, 2024, at the TMA Pai Hall from 3:00 pm to 5:45 pm.
The Teachers' Day ceremony marked the start of the program. Ms.Filimiya introduced the teachers after the MCs welcomed them, followed by a prayer song. A floral tribute was paid to the founder teachers of MCON by the Associate Dean, HoDs, and SNA office bearers. After a lovely duet song by Mr. John and Ms. Niya from the first semester BSc Nursing program, SNA President Mr. Farhan gave a considerate Teachers' Day speech. Dr. Tessy Treesa Jose, Associate Dean, addressed the students on the occasion. In her speech, she underlined the importance of teachers in society in the present day. She also wished the students on Onam in advance. Ms. Jeslyn and her group from the first semester of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing ended the Teachers' Day celebration program with a Bollywood dance.
Thiruvathira, a mind-blowing performance by Ms. Bonita and her team, marked the beginning of the Onam celebration. Following an Onapattu conducted by Ms. Denna and the group, Maveli entered and gave an Onam address. The Mohiniyattam performance by Ms. Meenakshi and Bonita was followed by the Sreeman and Sreemathi competition. Ms. Diya George, a fifth-semester BSc Nursing student, and Mr. Mathews, a third-semester student, grabbed the titles of Sreemathi and Sreeman, respectively. Students in their fifth semester performed a group dance to cap off the occasion. Ms. Angel Jossie, the cultural committee chairperson, cast the vote of thanks to the audience and the participants. We then conducted a tug-of-war competition, with fifth-semester BSc Nursing students emerging victorious, and students received refreshments. The teachers' day celebration and the Onam celebration were a happy and captivating occasion for the audience.
